After dawn, Hallie and Isaac prepared to leave after a quick clean-up.
Hallie approached Isaac with a grin. "Mr. Garten, uh... Can I advance 50 silver taels? You chopped off my friend's hand. I should leave him some taels."
Looking anxiously at Isaac, he then added, "He still has a mother and a child at home."
Seeing Isaac nod, Hallie promptly took 50 taels of silver from the sack, wrapped it in another sack, and went downstairs to hand it to the tavern owner.
"Are you not worried he'll steal the silver?" Isaac asked Hallie as they walked out of the tavern, with his face covered.
