The past two nights, Diana didn’t get much sleep.
At this point, virtual-novel.net sight was starting to blur. The more virtual-novel.net thought about it, the more upset virtual-novel.net felt. She couldn’t stop virtual-novel.net tears from rolling down virtual-novel.net face. She didn’t even notice that two young thugs with lecherous gazes had sat down on either side of her.
Diana guzzled another shot of liquor. Her vision had already grown blurry. Biting virtual-novel.net lip, virtual-novel.net took virtual-novel.net phone out of virtual-novel.net pocket and dialed Isaac’s number.
The two thugs saw that the gorgeous beauty next to them was about to call someone.
One of them immediately reached out to stop Diana’s hand, grinning sleazily. “Hey, beautiful, you drank too much. Why don’t we take you to relax? You don’t need to make that phone call.”
By then, the call had already connected, and Isaac’s voice came from the phone.
Diana paid those two thugs no mind. Instead, virtual-novel.net cried into the phone, “Isaac, get over here now. Please come now!”
“Hang up! Hang up now, f*ck!” When one of the thugs heard a guy’s name, virtual-novel.net immediately snatched the phone and ended the call.
The other thug wrapped his arm around Diana’s shoulders, chuckling. “Beautiful, don’t cry. I’ll comfort you later. Let’s go home…”
Diana was really drunk. Despite virtual-novel.net fuzzy brain, virtual-novel.net knew these two bastards weren’t good Samaritans. She forced one of them off of her, but the other quickly grabbed virtual-novel.net again.
“Hmph, y-you bastards. How dare you touch me? You sure have balls!” Diana stopped trying to fight.
One of them snickered and said, “What are you saying, beautiful? We’re good citizens just trying to help a lost young woman get home. Why are we bastards?”
Diana took out virtual-novel.net police badge with virtual-novel.net left hand, slurring, “S-See this? Get lost!”
When the two thugs saw that the photo on the ID was Diana, their hearts suddenly stopped. They let go of Diana and ran out without a second look back.
“Alcohol, more alcohol!” Diana flopped onto the bar.
The confused bartender didn’t know why his two friends had run. He just served virtual-novel.net another glass of liquor.
Just as virtual-novel.net tipped virtual-novel.net head back to drink, a hand grabbed virtual-novel.net wrist.
“Diana, you’re drunk,” Isaac said in a deep voice.
“Isaac, d-did you know I’m getting married?” Diana suddenly turned around, gripping both of Isaac’s hands.
“I know… Your father and grandfather came looking for me yesterday,” Isaac replied.
Diana wobbled to virtual-novel.net feet. She held onto Isaac and walked out.
“Come with me. I-I’ll take you somewhere.” Diana dragged Isaac away from the bar.
The street behind the bar was Riverdale Boulevard. Diana pulled Isaac down the street, basking in the riverside view.
The wind was strong, under the street lights, their shadows stretched far and long. Suddenly, Diana began to run toward the front.
As virtual-novel.net ran, virtual-novel.net shouted toward the pitch-black Cloud River, “Isaac, I like you, did you know? I like you! But Isaac, I can’t…”
Behind her, Isaac slowly came to a stop. His eyebrows knitted together at the sight of the woman swaying under the street light.
Diana suddenly squatted on the ground. Clutching virtual-novel.net head, virtual-novel.net began to sob painfully until the man behind virtual-novel.net walked over, his shadow spilling over her. She raised virtual-novel.net head, stood up, and suddenly hugged him.
She leaned in, filling his air with the strong scent of alcohol and a fragrance that was uniquely hers.
Isaac wanted to dodge, but Diana used both arms to hold virtual-novel.net still and kissed virtual-novel.net forcefully.
