Elowen put on a pained and conflicted expression.
Marcus' heart hurt to see her this way. He had really been too petty earlier.
"Alright then. I'll send you home, okay? It's pouring outside."
"You don't have to. You should go. I'll take a cab back." Elowen pushed Marcus aside and rushed out into the rain. She raised her hand and hailed a cab.
Watching her hop into a cab, Marcus sighed loudly. He slapped himself in the face and cursed himself.
