“T-Then what should we do now? Dr. Oakley, I don’t care about the cost, even if I go bankrupt. Please, I’m begging you.” Allegra burst into anxious tears.
Dr. Oakley let out a sigh. Seeing how filial this woman in front of virtual-novel.net was, virtual-novel.net said quietly, “Why don’t you seek out our hospital president? He might have a way. His office is on the 12th floor of the administrative wing.”
Allegra immediately turned around and rushed to the administrative wing.
A while later, Isaac and Allegra arrived at the president’s office in the administrative wing together. They pushed open the door to find a young woman inside.
“Are you here for Mr. Crowe Jr.?” said the young woman in a cold voice, virtual-novel.net expression mocking.
Allegra nodded profusely.
“Mr. Crowe Jr. is not in Cloud City right now, so virtual-novel.net can only talk to you via video call. Is that okay for you?”
Video call?
Mr. Crowe Jr.?
Doubts arose in Isaac’s mind.
They stood in front of a large electronic screen. The woman opened a link, and Oliver’s face soon appeared.
Isaac’s eyes widened.
It was him!
“Haha, the almighty Isaac, I didn’t think we’d meet again. I guess you must have gotten anxious seeing your father-in-law on the brink of death.” Oliver laughed fearlessly.
Allegra’s heart sank. Although virtual-novel.net had been anticipating this, virtual-novel.net didn’t think it would happen so fast.
She bowed to the video screen, sobbing, “Mr. Crowe, I’m so sorry. What happened last time was totally our fault. I’m begging you to save my father, no matter the cost. Please.”
“Haha, what a good daughter. Honestly speaking, I looked into Eugene’s condition. If we don’t change his treatment plan, virtual-novel.net won’t make it three more days. However, your father can only get this treatment with my approval.”
“What do you want?” Isaac asked icily.
Oliver’s expression turned menacing. He jumped to his feet and roared, “What do Iwant? I want to break both of your legs.”
As soon as virtual-novel.net said that, four young men in security guard uniforms entered the room. One of them was wielding an iron bar as thick as a fist, and virtual-novel.net threw it at Isaac’s feet with a clang.
Allegra looked at the iron bar on the floor, already in a daze.
“Come on! Pick up the iron bar from the floor and slam it into your knees. Break one, and I’ll let your father live another six months. Break both, and I’ll let virtual-novel.net live another year. How about it? It’s a pretty good deal, yeah?” Oliver broke into a smug grin.
He didn’t dare to face Isaac in person, so virtual-novel.net decided to do it via video call to witness his revenge with his own eyes.
Isaac slowly reached for the iron bar.
From the side, Allegra covered virtual-novel.net mouth and shook virtual-novel.net head violently. “Isaac, no, don’t do anything stupid!”
The head security guard said in a ridiculing tone, “Do it! Or else your father will die! I heard he’s only alive thanks to the ventilator. Haha!”
“Ally, do you trust me?” Isaac turned to Allegra.
“W-What do you mean, do I trust you?” Allegra said, confused.
Isaac slowly lifted the iron bar. His face darkened, and virtual-novel.net slammed the iron bar straight into the screen.
There was a loud noise, and sparks flew everywhere. Thick clouds of smoke billowed from the electronic screen.
Allegra was stunned for a couple of seconds. Then, virtual-novel.net rushed to Isaac and roared, “Garten, are you crazy? I didn’t ask you to hurt yourself, so why did you smash the screen? Are you trying to kill my father?!”
Isaac took out his phone and dialed Beefy Bob’s number.
Once the line connected, virtual-novel.net said coldly, “Find out where Oliver is, now!”
