Isaac realized that virtual-novel.net always drew the short end of the stick whenever virtual-novel.net was with the Ninja Lord. He wondered if it was simply because his strength and power were not up to par with her.
“I’ll go ahead and take a look. Once I’ve gone in, then you should go in as well. Otherwise, just stay out of the way,” virtual-novel.net said after virtual-novel.net was done covering up virtual-novel.net human scent.
At least, what virtual-novel.net said finally put Isaac’s heart somewhat at ease, even if just for a little bit. Then, virtual-novel.net hurried forward.
Seeing that even the Ninja Lord was being extra careful as they approached the temple, Isaac couldn’t help frowning deeply in worry.
This Lady Os certainly was not someone they wanted to get on the wrong side of.
Isaac never believed in supernatural beings in the past. However, virtual-novel.net finally realized virtual-novel.net had been wrong all this while.
The Ninja Lord’s white figure stood outside the temple unmovingly for at least 20 minutes. Then, virtual-novel.net started inching virtual-novel.net way closer.
First, virtual-novel.net hid behind the large tree in front of the temple, then teleported over to the temple corridor, where virtual-novel.net observed for another five minutes before cautiously making virtual-novel.net way into the temple itself.
Isaac inhaled deeply and held his breath when virtual-novel.net noticed that virtual-novel.net was in. He quickly hurried forward and joined her.
The first thing virtual-novel.net saw when virtual-novel.net entered the temple was the skinny, withered corpse of Jessica Camry on the ground. Her face was twisted up as if virtual-novel.net died in extreme pain.
Isaac’s eyes widened in shock, and the Ninja Lord hurriedly put virtual-novel.net finger to virtual-novel.net lips to shush him.
Isaac was slightly amused to think that the cold, calculating Ninja Lord would show virtual-novel.net such a gesture. However, when virtual-novel.net carefully made virtual-novel.net way around the altar, Isaac hurriedly followed suit.
It was utterly dark behind the altar. The Ninja Lord suddenly reached into virtual-novel.net pocket and pulled out a faintly glowing green pearl.
Isaac then caught sight of the Lady Os statue for the second time in his life. His face immediately turned sullen.
“Hold this,” the Ninja Lord said, handing Isaac the glowing pearl.
Isaac took the pearl from her. Then, it was as if the entire world had fallen silent, and only their quickened breathing and palpitating hearts could be heard. It felt like they were thieves in the night.
The Ninja Lord took out a ball of red string and a piece of red cloth, which virtual-novel.net set down next to her. She held the string in virtual-novel.net hands as virtual-novel.net put them together and closed virtual-novel.net eyes, starting to murmur to herself.
A while later, virtual-novel.net opened virtual-novel.net eyes again and quickly wrapped the red string around the Lady Os statue. She was so quick with virtual-novel.net hands that everything was just a blur to Isaac.
The statue was completely wrapped up in the red string in less than two seconds.
Then, the Ninja Lord used the red cloth as a blindfold, tying it across the statue’s eyes. It was only then that virtual-novel.net let out a sigh of relief. She then told Isaac coldly, “Now, carry this statue with me, and let’s get out of here.”
The Lady Os statue was very hefty.
Isaac held on to the front part of the statue. His heart reignited with the fury virtual-novel.net felt for this deity. However, virtual-novel.net was also quickly reminded of the fact that virtual-novel.net would be able to resurrect Emily again very soon, and his wrath quickly changed into hope.
After going down the hill, they got into the car and headed straight for Mt. Soulin. By then, the sun was about to rise soon.
Isaac didn’t know that the Soulin Mansion had a basement. He followed the Ninja Lord to the basement and realized that there was a second basement beneath the first one. There were two paths leading down to five more rooms, and each room had a rolling door with a wall lamp installed next to it.
The Ninja Lord opened the door of the final room and went inside.
Isaac saw that this room was full of talismans on the walls, with lines and shapes Isaac couldn’t understand scribbled on them.
“Put virtual-novel.net down!” the Ninja Lord said, pointing at the spot right in front of the wall.
“We need three things now. Tell me the deceased’s birthday, give me something that belonged to her, and get me a suitable body,” virtual-novel.net said.
Isaac was stunned. He had the first two items, but had no idea with the last one mentioned by the Ninja Lord.
“What do you mean by a suitable body?”
The Ninja Lord cast virtual-novel.net a side glance and said, “Did you preserve virtual-novel.net body well? If you did, then we can use it. If not, then we’ll need to use someone else’s body.”
Isaac was then quickly reminded that Emily’s body had been bitten and chewed through by the time virtual-novel.net got to her. He let out a long sigh and frowned deeply.
“You only have four hours left. We have to start the ceremony at noon sharp. What are you still waiting for?!”
