"Jordan, Miranda, are you sure you're just here to visit for Christmas? It's already been so many years. Are you still holding a grudge because of that incident?" Eugene asked sternly after hearing the sounds from the kitchen.
He had to protect Margaret because she was his wife. Even a blind man could see that Jordan was saying all of these on purpose.
Jordan just waved him off and said with a laugh, "How could you even suggest such a thing, Eugene? We're certainly not the kind of people who would stay mad at anyone for such a long time. Let me treat you all to lunch, alright? I've already booked a private dining room at Maples Hotel. Let's eat there. Tell Margaret she doesn't need to cook anymore."
Eugene said, "Miranda, Margaret has already gone grocery shopping after hearing you'd be coming to visit us. She knows she was in the wrong last time, and she is trying to make it up..."
"Never mind, Eugene, let's just head out to eat. You were the only one in the whole family who supported my marriage with Jordan, and I am only here to visit you. I don't really care about anyone else," Miranda said, interrupting her brother with a wave of her hand.
