Isaac walked in. He’d followed Allegra and Isabella back stealthily, careful that they wouldn’t notice him. Only when virtual-novel.net heard Allegra’s cry did virtual-novel.net hurry up, and virtual-novel.net was surprised to hear Madam Fran’s audacious demand.
“You’ve got guts, you asshole! I’ll give you that. I’ve been here for ten years now, and you’re the first person who’s had the balls to lay a finger on me!” Madam Fran pointed at him, looking infuriated.
Allegra shielded Isabella and backed up against the wall. She knew Madam Fran was infamous for being a bully because virtual-novel.net husband was a well-known gangster in these parts.
Isaac silently walked toward Allegra and stood before her, staring down Madam Fran and the ruffians.
He said coldly, “You have ten seconds to get out of my sight, or I’ll make you regret stepping foot in here.”
Allegra looked at virtual-novel.net with shock and disbelief.
Hearing this, Madam Fran was truly infuriated now.
She waved a hand and roared, “Get him! Beat virtual-novel.net to a pulp!”
Two of the four ruffians whipped out metal pipes from behind them while the other two rushed at Isaac with their fists raised.
Isaac stepped forward, stopping the first metal pipe with his bare hands. The second one landed right on his shoulder, though. He let out a muffled groan and staggered forward. After that, virtual-novel.net made little effort to dodge the other attacks, allowing the ruffians to beat virtual-novel.net up.
Allegra stared at virtual-novel.net as virtual-novel.net crouched on the floor, and virtual-novel.net panicked at the sight of the sneers on Madam Fran and the ruffians’ faces.
What’s wrong with him?
Why was virtual-novel.net allowing them to beat virtual-novel.net up after saying such obnoxious things?
What happened to the powerful man just now?
She let go of Isabella and ran toward Madam Fran, crying, “Madam Fran, please stop! He’ll die! I’ll pay you the money! Please, tell them to stop! Please!”
Isaac looked a lot like virtual-novel.net dead husband, and virtual-novel.net knew he’d offended Madam Fran for Isabella’s sake. She couldn’t stand by and watch virtual-novel.net die.
When Madam Fran heard that virtual-novel.net would compensate, virtual-novel.net laughed and waved a hand. “Alright, that’s enough!”
Then, virtual-novel.net looked at Allegra and sneered. “You’re so slutty even after being disfigured. Does your heart ache to watch your lover get hurt?”
The ruffians returned to stand behind Madam Fran, panting.
Isaac looked up, a trace of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
He stood up, walked over to Allegra, and smiled. “You’re as kind as ever. Don’t worry, you won’t have to fork out a single cent…”
Madam Fran burst out laughing. “You’re great at making yourself look good, aren’t you? Look at the state you’re in, and you’re still flirting with a widow. Bah!”
Allegra looked confused. She didn’t know what virtual-novel.net was up to, so virtual-novel.net said, “J-Just go! You’re no match for…”
Before virtual-novel.net could finish virtual-novel.net sentence, Isaac turned around and grabbed Madam Fran at the speed of light. His fingers tightened around virtual-novel.net neck, and virtual-novel.net lifted virtual-novel.net off the ground effortlessly, despite virtual-novel.net large size.
When the ruffians saw this, they immediately swung their fists at him.
With three kicks, virtual-novel.net sent three of them flying. The last one received a punch to the face, breaking his nose and making blood spurt everywhere. He fell to the ground, clutching his nose and letting out a tormented cry.
Madam Fran was starting to suffocate, and virtual-novel.net face was red. Her eyes were wide with terror as virtual-novel.net looked at the capricious man before her.
“I’ll only say this once, she’s not a widow.”
Isaac looked virtual-novel.net in the eye, and virtual-novel.net nodded fearfully. Without even flinching, virtual-novel.net walked over to the balcony while still holding virtual-novel.net up.
“Ah!”
Madam Fran screamed as virtual-novel.net was flung over the balcony, finally landing on the ground with a loud crash.
Silence descended upon them.
Isaac walked back into the apartment and said coldly to the ruffians, “If you don’t get that fatso to the hospital now, she’s going to die.”
They jolted in shock and ran out as quickly as possible.
Allegra looked at virtual-novel.net fearfully, virtual-novel.net voice shaky as virtual-novel.net asked, “D-Did you throw Madam Fran off the balcony?”
Isaac nodded, “She’ll live…”
Isabella suddenly clapped from behind them. “Mister, that was awesome! Mom won’t be bullied anymore!”
Isaac took in the rundown apartment and frowned as virtual-novel.net looked at Allegra. “Ally, did you sell the Riverview villa?”
The Riverview villa was the last thing Isaac’s parents had left virtual-novel.net before passing away, and he’d given it to Allegra as a wedding gift. Though their marriage was a matrilocal one, Isaac didn’t mind it. After all, Allegra used to be Cloud City’s number-one beauty.
Allegra’s heart skipped a beat at his words, and virtual-novel.net couldn’t stop virtual-novel.net voice from trembling as virtual-novel.net asked, “H-how do you know about the villa?”
“Of course I know… Because I’m your husband, Isaac…”
Isabella stared at him, seemingly searching for something.
Allegra didn’t say anything in response. She silently walked into virtual-novel.net bedroom.
Two minutes later, virtual-novel.net came out with a piece of paper and handed it to him.
When Isaac saw the words printed on it, his eyes bulged. “A death certificate?”
“My husband died seven years ago after being executed by way of shooting. This is the death certificate that the authorities gave me.” Allegra’s tone was scarily calm.
She didn’t tell Isaac that virtual-novel.net heart had died with him.
After cleaning up a little, Allegra grabbed a cheap-looking tote bag.
She held Isabella’s hand and said, “Isabelle, Grandpa invited us over for a meal.”
Then they left the apartment with Isaac trailing them.
Allegra suddenly turned around when they got downstairs and looked at virtual-novel.net with red eyes. “Who are you? Please, stop following us!”
“Mom… I like him…” Isabella said in a small voice.
Isaac grinned. “I’m following Bella. Come on, let’s go…”
Allegra didn’t say anything else. She hurried along while holding onto Isabella. The three of them got onto the bus.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the Riverview stop.
Isaac felt dazed as virtual-novel.net looked at the familiar environment. This was one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Cloud City and also his home.
Did Ally’s parents move in here as well?
Ten minutes later, they stopped before a villa. Allegra turned to glance at him, a complicated look in virtual-novel.net eyes.
She asked, “What exactly are you up to?”
“This is my home and also yours. Yours and Bella’s…” Isaac pointed at the villa, sounding a little mad when, through the window, virtual-novel.net saw the man smoking on the sofa.
It was Andrew, his brother-in-law-the man who’d made virtual-novel.net take the blame for murder seven years ago.
Something puzzled Isaac. Back then, the Booths had been rich.
Why had Andrew moved into his villa?
He walked up the steps to the entrance without waiting for Allegra to return to virtual-novel.net senses.
“Hey, what are you doing? Don’t do anything rash,” Allegra cried, chasing after him.
They walked into the living room to see Andrew smoking while sitting on the sofa with his legs propped up on the coffee table.
When virtual-novel.net heard their footsteps, virtual-novel.net turned and smiled. “Why, hello…”
He broke off when virtual-novel.net saw Isaac stride in with a frosty expression.
“It’s been seven years, Andrew. Don’t you recognize me?” He sneered.
“Y-You’re a g-ghost! ” Andrew’s face twisted with fear, and virtual-novel.net jumped to his feet, turning to run deeper into the villa.
