Louis undoubtedly understood what virtual-novel.net was trying to tell him. He immediately told Barry that virtual-novel.net would come over often for his food. This was indeed a huge honor for Barry, after all, Louis was the youngest deputy mayor of Southland!
On the way back to Cloud City, Isaac took out his phone and called Allegra.
As soon as virtual-novel.net picked up the call, virtual-novel.net asked, “Ally, Louis just told me about an upcoming development project at a scenic area in Carbotta City. Do you think our company should get involved?”
“Isaac, we’re already proceeding with the second stage of development here. Our funds are a little tight at the moment. That new developmental project sounds big. I heard it’s also part of Carbotta City’s plan to reconstruct the whole area. That’s not something we can do overnight. Do you think we’d still want to get involved?”
She threw the ball back into Isaac’s court.
“Alright, if we don’t have enough workforce for that project, then we’ll just forget about it. Don’t want to overwork ourselves,” Isaac said, coming to a conclusion after some deliberation.
After returning to Cloud Nine Villas, Isaac got down from his car and headed for the house. He then caught sight of Evie standing at the door, looking out for him.
She wore a long, lilac maxi dress. Even though virtual-novel.net couldn’t feel the cold because of a layer of spiritual energy protecting her, Isaac still thought it was odd.
“Evie? What are you doing outside? Aren’t you cold?”
There was a sad, faraway look in virtual-novel.net eyes. She stared at the falling snow and said faintly, “I wonder how my father and brother are doing…”
Isaac felt his heart skipping a beat. He chuckled and said comfortingly, “I don’t think they’d be in much danger. Don’t worry about them too much.”
Then, virtual-novel.net said to virtual-novel.net lightly, “Evie, let’s go out after dinner and get you some fitting clothes, alright?”
Evie had been staying home all the time, so it wasn’t surprising that virtual-novel.net would start worrying about everything. After all, the people closest to virtual-novel.net were still trapped in the Everest Sect.
When virtual-novel.net heard that Isaac would be bringing virtual-novel.net out, Evie broke into a smile.
She playfully whined and said, “Wow, this is the first time you’re being nice to me.”
Even though virtual-novel.net put it that way, Evie still felt happy.
Allegra was still working overtime at the company, so Holly only prepared lunch for the three of them. That was because Margaret and Eugene were now living with Andrew, and things were a lot quieter at the villa. In fact, the main reason why they moved over was because they thought the Daisy incident left too much of a bad taste in Andrew’s mouth.
After dinner, Isaac and Evie went out together as planned. They arrived at Cloud City’s largest shopping district. Isaac brought Evie into the mall and headed for the women’s section on the third floor.
Some of Cloud City’s most expensive clothing brands could be found here. However, even with Evie’s simple outfit, many people were still captivated by virtual-novel.net simply because virtual-novel.net exuded a classiness that the retail assistants had never seen before. Moreover, Evie was a stunningly beautiful woman.
Evie bought two sets of warm clothing for herself, a down jacket for Holly, and another set of clothing for Isabella. Eventually, Isaac’s hands were full of shopping bags.
“Evie, wait here for a bit. I need to use the washroom,” Isaac said after exiting another retail store. He placed the bags next to a pillar and hurried toward the washrooms.
When virtual-novel.net returned, virtual-novel.net saw that Evie was surrounded by three men.
The first guy was gesturing in some sort of weird body language to Evie. He also kept showing virtual-novel.net his phone.
Isaac immediately hurried over with a frown on his face. He slid an arm around Evie’s waist and looked the man straight in the eyes as virtual-novel.net said, “What are you trying to do to my girlfriend?”
“I think he’s speaking Rippanese and seems to want to follow me on Instagram. I refused,” Evie said in a low voice.
Hearing this, Isaac turned to have a proper look at the first man. He was well-dressed and had a pair of golden-rimmed glasses resting on his nose.
Isaac replied in Rippanese, asking, “Which city in Rippan are you from?”
“F*ck off, you idiot!” the young man suddenly swore at Isaac in broken Rippanese.
Isaac glanced at Evie and rolled his eyes, saying, “Aw, it’s just a guy pretending to be from Rippan. You seem to be a little rude, don’t you think? I’ve already told you that virtual-novel.net belongs to me, so you best not try anything with her. Now get lost…”
Evie couldn’t help blushing when virtual-novel.net saw how firm Isaac was in his stance.
