The electrifying sensation at her ears made Allegra shiver. She said weakly, "Don't mess around, or the food may end up burned. Why don't you give Dad a call and ask him when he's coming back?"
Then, she reminded him with a blush, "Stop calling him Eugene..."
Isaac walked to the living room. Hearing Isaac call him "Dad" for the first time in seven years had scared the old man. Eugene said he'd come home right away and have a drink with Isaac.
Later that night, it began to rain cats and dogs outside. After a long day, Allegra was already sound asleep.
Isaac went to the study, lit a cigarette, and opened his laptop.
