One of the youngsters roared and darted toward her, grabbing virtual-novel.net hair with one hand and smashing virtual-novel.net ribs with the hammer in his other hand.
Crack!
The beggar shrieked and coughed up blood, virtual-novel.net body slumping to the ground.
“You’re insane! She’s just a beggar. What would we do if virtual-novel.net dies?” The other thief reprimanded him.
“Who’ll care about a beggar? What could I have done? She ruined our plans!”
“C’mon, let’s go.” The other thief heard footsteps approaching and anxiously grabbed his accomplice as they fled.
Two security guards jogged over. They were dumbfounded when they saw the beggar curled up on the ground and the broken car window.
Just then, Allegra and Emily exited the elevator in the underground garage, having finished their meeting. They saw the figure on the ground.
Allegra was stunned. She trotted over.
“Miss Booth, t-there were thieves after your car…”
Allegra ignored him. She squatted by the beggar, virtual-novel.net hand trembling as virtual-novel.net swept virtual-novel.net greasy hair aside. She jolted when virtual-novel.net saw virtual-novel.net face, full of agony.
“Mom! Mom! Are you okay? What happened?”
Isaac was on the phone with Black Phoenix in Cloud Nine Villas when virtual-novel.net received Allegra’s call.
“Tell me the situation through email. I have another incoming call.”
Allegra’s sobbing voice came through the receiver. “Isaac, Isaac… Mom’s dying…”
“What? Tell me everything. Where are you?” Isaac frowned.
After hanging up, Isaac called Harry as virtual-novel.net headed for Cloud City Hospital.
When virtual-novel.net arrived, virtual-novel.net spotted Allegra squatting in a corner, weeping, while Emily accompanied virtual-novel.net with a concerned look.
“What happened?” He hadn’t been able to get a clear explanation of what had happened from Allegra over the phone. Isaac could only look at Emily for answers.
Emily was still shocked to realize that the beggar in rags was Allegra’s mother. She sighed and said, “Someone tried to steal Miss Booth’s car, then virtual-novel.net mother ran into them and called for security. The thief used a blunt weapon to hit her, and according to the doctor, they penetrated virtual-novel.net lung lobe. She has internal bleeding…”
Isaac’s brows furrowed. He turned and saw Harry striding toward him.
“Ally, it’s alright now. Harry’s here. Everything will be fine.” Isaac gestured at the emergency room, and Harry barged in.
Shortly after, Eugene arrived in a hurry with Isabella in his arms.
He’d been out with Isabella when he’d heard the news. He’d been so alarmed that virtual-novel.net ran all the way here with Isabella.
“What happened, Ally? What’s wrong with your mom? Why does virtual-novel.net have internal bleeding?” Eugene gasped for breath. He looked nervous.
Harry came out then. He wiped away his sweat and announced, “Boss, everything’s fine. She’s awake now, but you need to wait until she’s taken virtual-novel.net medicine before you enter.”
Two hours later, Eugene couldn’t hold it in any longer. He was restless.
“Eugene, why don’t you go see virtual-novel.net with Ally? I’ll look after Bella,” said Isaac softly.
Eugene nodded vigorously. He didn’t enter the room because virtual-novel.net wasn’t sure about Isaac’s stand. He immediately grabbed Allegra and went inside.
“Mom! What’re you doing, Mom? Why are you kneeling? Get up!”
Almost immediately, Allegra‘s sob rang out.
