Hearing this, Isaac’s brows twitched.
Someone is backing virtual-novel.net up, indeed…
However, Isaac couldn’t understand why someone would boost an unworthy family and turn it into a well-known one in Cloud City. Besides, everything Gould Corporation had done so far was to make life difficult for Garth Properties.
“Tell me who’s the one backing you up.” Isaac closed in on Edward.
Edward paled. He realized virtual-novel.net had let it slip. His boss told virtual-novel.net if virtual-novel.net ever let anyone know about him, virtual-novel.net would kill him.
“Why should I? Isaac, kill me if you want, but I’ll never agree to your conditions.” Edward gritted his teeth.
Allegra and the others felt the tension rising in the air.
Suddenly, Isaac grabbed Edward’s neck and heaved Edward up while striding toward the large window behind him.
“Since you said so, I’d be glad to fulfill your wishes…” Isaac smirked.
Edward hadn’t gotten a grip on what was happening when virtual-novel.net felt pain in his back. There was a crash as his body broke through the glass window.
The wind howled as it rushed into the room. Edward flinched and looked down. His body was hanging outside the window and was dozens of stories above the ground.
“Murder, murder! Isaac’s murdering someone!” Andrew started screaming and pulled out his phone to report the incident to the authorities.
Allegra’s and Emily’s hearts almost leaped out of their stomachs.
Emily kept quiet while Allegra scolded, “Isaac, are you mad? What are you doing? Put virtual-novel.net down now!”
“Five seconds. If you disagree, I’ll let go.” Isaac stared at Edward as virtual-novel.net smirked. Edward almost peed his pants.
“Five! Four! Three!”
Edward felt Isaac’s grip loosening. Before Isaac could count further, Edward widened his eyes and shouted, “I agree! I agree. Half price it is! I’ll sign the papers immediately. Don’t let go!”
Isaac lifted Edward back into the meeting room.
Edward stood shakily, virtual-novel.net was trembling all over. He glared at Isaac as virtual-novel.net shouted, voice shaking, “Rewrite the agreement immediately!”
His assistant printed a new agreement stating they would supply the materials at half the market price.
Allegra held the documents and couldn’t respond for a long while. She couldn’t believe Isaac had solved the very problem that caused virtual-novel.net to lose sleep these days. Although the process gave virtual-novel.net a heart attack, it was fortunate Isaac put Edward down in the end.
Allegra and the rest left after signing the papers.
“Isaac, please refrain from such dangerous acts in the future. That was risky. What would become of us if Edward had fallen?” Allegra sounded displeased and rolled virtual-novel.net eyes at Isaac, who was driving.
Emily was in the passenger seat. She smiled and said, “Ms. Booth, if it weren’t for Mr. Garten, we couldn’t have succeeded.”
“But it’s still not right to kid around with one’s life.” Allegra frowned. She was stern.
Emily was about to say something, but Isaac smiled and spoke up, “Alright, dear. I’ll keep that in mind.”
He dropped Allegra and Emily at the company. Then, virtual-novel.net called Black Phoenix and said, “Find out who’s behind Edward Gould.”
Meanwhile, Edward was glowering in his office. He was still afraid when virtual-novel.net recalled the events earlier. Although virtual-novel.net was safe, they signed the papers that didn’t profit them.
