When he saw that Holly had already signed the contract, Isaac was also taken aback.
The terms of the contract stated that she had to work for him for 50 years. He'd even asked the printing shop to make sure those words were bolded and enlarged for emphasis.

The crowd started whispering among themselves. Most of them were saying that Holly was nothing but a scammer, whereas a few others also commented that Isaac was just an incredibly stupid employer.
