The crack in the middle of the burial grounds was over ten feet long and nearly six feet wide, resembling a rectangular black entrance.
Beneath the ground were rough, tiered steps extending down. The angle was steep. Isaac, Obi, and the others walked down successively.
They lost sight of the light above after roughly 25 feet of descent. The person at the front and the last opened their headlamps, illuminating the surroundings.
Isaac walked third in front. He noticed that the steps were still steep, with only about four inches of space above his head and about two inches on each side. It meant that only one person could pass through the narrow passage at a time. They had to queue up to proceed.
"Don't overthink it. We'll have to walk for a day on these steps before we get to our destination," Obi's voice echoed in the narrow, dark passage.
