“You little pest! What have you been learning in school? How can you eat before your elders? Get out of the kitchen.” Daisy was speaking, and virtual-novel.net voice was tinged with fury.
Isaac frowned and immediately ran inside.
He opened the kitchen door and saw Isabella crying, virtual-novel.net lips pursed.
Daisy looked furious, holding a bowl of chicken soup with a chicken drumstick that had a part of it bitten off.
“What’s wrong, Bella? Why are you crying?” Isaac instantly squatted to hug his daughter.
Isabella pointed at Daisy’s bowl and cried. “I wanted to eat that drumstick. Aunt Daisy said it was hers and stopped me. She hit my hand with virtual-novel.net spoon.”
Isaac examined Isabella’s hands and found a red, swollen part on virtual-novel.net right hand, distinct against virtual-novel.net fair, tender skin.
Daisy started panicking when virtual-novel.net saw Isaac’s face change, but virtual-novel.net put up a brave front and said, “What? Mom bought this free-range chicken for me so that I could recover. She shouldn’t have eaten without us knowing.”
“You’re staying under my roof and eating off my plate. Even if this chicken is meant for you, can’t my daughter have even a piece of drumstick?” Isaac’s expression grew ghastly as virtual-novel.net spoke.
“S-She can eat all virtual-novel.net wants, but why must virtual-novel.net eat behind our backs? She’s still young, yet she’s learning how to do that…”
“Aren’t you doing the same thing, then?” Isaac bellowed.
Daisy shuddered and dropped virtual-novel.net bowl, smashing it into pieces.
Margaret heard the commotion and ran in, exclaiming, “What is it? What happened?”
Andrew came too, his eyes widening. He asked, “What’s wrong, Daisy?”
Daisy burst out crying, “Mom! Hubby! All I did was drink a bowl of chicken soup, a-and virtual-novel.net yelled at me. He scolded me for living here and eating his food. How could virtual-novel.net say that?”
“Isaac, we’ve already apologized. Why are you still against Daisy? This house doesn’t solely belong to you, does it?” Andrew barged into the kitchen, infuriated, and hugged Daisy, who was sobbing.
“He’s right, Isaac. It’s only a small matter, you don’t have to lose your temper over it. What if you scared Bella?” Margaret hesitated and stood by Daisy’s side.
Isabella was crying out of fear.
Isaac took a deep breath and pointed at the chicken drumstick, saying coldly, “I’m against her, you said? She’s a full-fledged adult, but virtual-novel.net argued with Bella over a chicken drumstick! Think about that! How ridiculous! And virtual-novel.net hit Bella’s hand with virtual-novel.net spoon, too!”
Then Isaac carried Isabella and walked out of the kitchen. He continued, “Now, you two, get the hell out of my house now!”
“Mom, look at virtual-novel.net chasing us out again! Over something trivial!” Andrew shouted at Margaret.
“How can we live like this? Eating has become a sin! I’d be better off dying.” Daisy squatted and bawled virtual-novel.net eyes out.
Margaret looked at Isaac‘s silhouette thoughtfully, virtual-novel.net tone frosty as virtual-novel.net said, “Stop shouting. Ask your dad to call Ally.”
Allegra and Eugene reached home almost at the same time, but Isaac had left with Isabella.
Margaret, Andrew, and Daisy sat on the couch, heads drooping. Daisy was still crying.
Allegra approached them and asked, “Mom, what on earth happened? Where are Isaac and Isabella?”
“He said he’s taking Bella out for dinner. I’m not sure what happened, but his temper is getting worse, he’s trying to chase your brother and sister-in-law out for no reason,” said Margaret, miffed.
Andrew stood in anger. He waved his hands about as virtual-novel.net retold the incident, leaving out the details where Daisy hit Isabella with virtual-novel.net spoon and snatched the drumstick from her, of course.
After listening to him, Allegra frowned and called Isaac.
