Margaret was convinced that Isaac had disclosed her secret to Eugene.
She resented Isaac so much she could barely contain her anger. But Eugene was still holding the fruit knife, so Margaret dared not utter a word.
It was already past 10 pm when they reached home. Margaret glued her eyes to the knife in Eugene's hand, occasionally glaring at Isaac smoking.
Eugene threw the knife, and it clattered to the floor. He lit a cigarette and asked coldly, "So, how do you want to settle this?"
"What do you mean by that? Eugene Booth, don't you feel embarrassed?" Margaret sensed Eugene had toned down his temper and regained her haughtiness.
