Due to the school's background, its students were of high birth. Therefore, the school had sent a few staff members to remove obstacles from the hiking trail two days earlier and restrict access. Also, the mountain's caretaker had increased the number of security guards on duty.
That said, nothing could have possibly happened on the trip, as they had taken precautionary measures. However, after lunch, Jodie and Jenson, who were in charge of Isabella's class, saw that the maples were blooming gorgeously and had left in search of picturesque spots to take a few photos.
They had left the students unsupervised for half an hour and hadn't realized one of them was missing until they took the students' attendance on the bus at 4.30 pm.
The school staff had returned to the mountain immediately and searched for two hours until it was dark, but to no avail. It was only then that they reported the incident to the authorities.
