Isaac took out his phone and dialed Louis’ number.
After the other party picked up, virtual-novel.net said, “Louis, get me the best lawyer in Southland. I want to file a lawsuit.”
“M-Mr. Garten, you want to file a lawsuit? Someone actually dared to sue you?” Louis was so surprised that virtual-novel.net stammered for a bit.
Isaac then filled virtual-novel.net in on the events earlier. Louis told Isaac to count on virtual-novel.net before hanging up.
“Alright, let’s continue with dinner. It’s not good to waste such perfectly grilled ribs like these,” Isaac said, returning to his seat.
But Barry had lost his appetite a long time ago.
Less than an hour later, they heard the clacking of high heels entering the restaurant. It was a lady wearing a baby blue vest, black pencil skirt, black leggings, black high heels, and holding an intricate suitcase in virtual-novel.net hand.
“Excuse me, who is Mr. Garten?” The short-haired lady walked up to the table and looked around before settling virtual-novel.net gaze on Isaac.
“That would be me…”
“Hello, Mr. Garten. My name is Judy Winters, but you can call me Ms. Winters. May I know who’s the litigant?”
Judy didn’t look a day over 40. She was quite gentle, and virtual-novel.net smile put people at ease.
Isaac gestured at Barry and said, “That would be him. You can get all the details of the incident from him.”
Judy immediately brought out virtual-novel.net notebook and sat down next to Barry.
She smiled at virtual-novel.net and said, “Sir, please tell me your appeal. Then, tell me everything that happened, and try not to leave out any details. You don’t have to look so anxious. I’ve been practicing for 15 years, and out of the 267 lawsuits, 61 criminal cases, and 201 civil cases I’ve handled, I’ve always emerged victorious in every one of them…”
Hearing this, Barry perked up. He didn’t think that Isaac could get such a capable lawyer for virtual-novel.net with just one phone call.
He took a long swig of his beer and told virtual-novel.net everything that had transpired over the past few days, including his past with Karen. It took virtual-novel.net all day, and it was dark by the time virtual-novel.net stopped.
Judy listened to virtual-novel.net earnestly and occasionally jotted down some notes in virtual-novel.net notebook.
After they were done, virtual-novel.net smiled and stood up.
“Mr. Garten, a case like this is quite difficult, but I will do whatever I can to help the litigant,” Judy said with a confident smile.
Isaac shook his head and said, “I’m not concerned about whether or not you’ll win this case. I just want Karen to pay through virtual-novel.net nose to compensate my friend for all these years. Even better if she’s made homeless and bankrupt because of it. Do you get what I mean?”
There was a shocked expression on Judy’s face. She chuckled and said, “Mr. Garten, it’s been a while since that incident happened. A lot of evidence would have been gone by now. It’s tough to even make a case out of this, what more getting Karen to pay…”
“Why else would I get Louis to look for you? Aren’t you supposed to be the best lawyer in Southland? You don’t seem very capable at all…”
Isaac’s words made Judy feel uncomfortable. She chewed virtual-novel.net lips and suppressed virtual-novel.net anger, saying, “Mr. Garten, the court exists to uphold justice and righteousness. It’s not a place for you to get personal revenge on someone else just because you don’t like them. As I’ve said before, a lot of evidence…”
“Whatever evidence you need, this young man over here will supply them. That includes proof of Karen sleeping around with other men, living under their roofs, going to hotels, getting wasted at bars Anything. We have our ways,” Isaac said, pointing at Shawn.
“Him? Is virtual-novel.net from the authorities too?” Judy looked at Shawn suspiciously. He didn’t look like the police.
Shawn chuckled and said, “If Isaac says we can give you whatever you need, that means we can. There‘s no need for speculation about who I am or where I’m from.”
“If you still think you can’t handle this case, let me know immediately. I’ll get someone else to replace you. But if you can, I’ll hire you for a billion dollars,” Isaac said lightly.
A billion dollars?
Judy never thought that Isaac would offer virtual-novel.net such a large sum of money. Even the wealthiest man in Layton wouldn’t be as generous as him!
“As long as you can give me the evidence that I need, I’ll be able to handle the case. And if I succeed, I want an apology from you, Mr. Garten,” Judy replied with another smile.
