Because of the frantic crowd, Isaac quickly lost sight of the man in the baseball cap.
The entire ballroom was dead silent. Below the stage, the air was filled with the coppery smell of blood. No one from the Gould family dared to make a sound, save for Willow, who occasionally twitched as she lay in Edward's arms.
Alec glared at Isaac, but with Beefy Bob and the hundred men in black standing behind him, overflowing with murderous intent, he didn't dare make a sound.
"The Gould family is at their peak now," Isaac murmured as he looked out the window, lighting a cigarette.
Suddenly, he smiled and turned to look at the pale Edward, saying, "Don't be sad... Your saddest days have yet to come. So long as I'm here, the future of the Gould family is boundless."
