Half an hour later, Isaac returned with Isabella, carrying her in his arms. Isabella was holding a toy and looked happier.
The others were in the living room, and Allegra was fuming.
Isaac hadn't uttered a word when Allegra said coldly, "Isaac, come with me upstairs."
"Allegra, tone down, okay? Don't blow your top," advised Eugene.
Margaret got up and held Isabella's hand, smiling. "Bella, Grandma's taking you for a stroll, okay?"
