“Here, why don’t you get up first? Ally, take the kids into the house, please.” Isaac frowned as virtual-novel.net helped Wendy up.
After hearing Wendy’s story, Isaac looked at virtual-novel.net and asked, “Do you believe that your husband is that kind of person?”
Wendy shook virtual-novel.net head and sobbed, “I was furious at first, but it didn’t make sense when I thought more about it. He rarely goes out at night, and even if virtual-novel.net does, virtual-novel.net doesn’t drink alcohol… He said that he’s a public official, so virtual-novel.net has to take great care to maintain his and his employer’s reputation.”
She continued, “Without being so careful, virtual-novel.net wouldn’t have been able to stay in his position for the last two years. He doesn’t even take cigarettes from other people, let alone a sum of money… Mr. Garten, I believe that Louis was framed. But now, they’ve taken virtual-novel.net away!”
“It’s fine as long as you believe in your husband. Let’s go over to the Internal Affairs office, then. We’ll get virtual-novel.net out,” Isaac said with a nod.
Wendy was a teacher. She wasn’t well-connected, and virtual-novel.net social circle wasn’t very vast. Even though Louis said that Isaac was the only person who could save him, Wendy began to doubt it once virtual-novel.net realized that Isaac was just a young man. However, virtual-novel.net had no choice but to trust him.
On the way to the office, Isaac called Beefy Bob and Black Phoenix to explain the situation.
By the time they reached, it was already seven o’clock in the evening. However, security stopped them at the gates.
“Where are you from, and what are you doing here? Outsiders are not allowed to enter,” the security guard said fiercely.
Seated in the back of the car, Wendy felt virtual-novel.net heart go cold when virtual-novel.net heard the guard. She’d figured that Isaac had to be an influential figure but didn’t think that virtual-novel.net would get stopped at the gates without even going in.
Isaac turned to face Wendy and said, “Wait here for a moment…”
Isaac got out of the car.
Wendy thought that Isaac was going to try sweet-talking or bribing the guard with a cigarette, but to virtual-novel.net shock, Isaac kicked the guard to the ground and stomped on virtual-novel.net for good measure. Then, virtual-novel.net took a remote control device from one of the guards and opened the gates.
“M-Mr. Garten, are you sure this is the right way to get Louis out?” Wendy asked anxiously when Isaac got back inside the car.
“It saves a lot of time this way,” Isaac said with a laugh.
The both of them got out of the car.
Noticing an employee coming out of the building just then, Isaac stopped him. “Where’s Louis Marsh? The one who was brought here today.”
“Which department are you from? Why are you looking for virtual-novel.net at night?” The employee asked with a frown.
Wendy was frightened, but Isaac said calmly, “We’re here to get virtual-novel.net out. Orders from the top.”
The employee was stunned for a moment before pointing at a building to the right. “Third floor, the room closest to the left. You’ll need to show your ID to the guards there…”
Just as they reached the top of the stairs, they were stopped by a pair of men in black suits.
One of them asked coldly, “What are you here for?”
“I’m here for Louis Marsh. You can’t imprison a guy before concluding his investigation. Why did you bring virtual-novel.net here?” Isaac asked back in an equally icy voice.
“He’s involved in a case right now. We have orders to bar anyone from seeing him. Leave now.” The man waved them off.
“Who’s your superior? Tell virtual-novel.net to see me,” Isaac said.
The man started laughing when virtual-novel.net heard what Isaac said. Another man sitting nearby also broke out in laughter.
“You really think you’re something, don’t you? Who are you to tell my superior to see you? Who the f*ck do you think you are? Leave now! Otherwise, I’ll get the guards to throw you out!” the man roared back at him.
Wendy was trembling in fright at this point. She tugged at Isaac’s shirt and said, “Mr. Garten, how about we go out first and think of something later?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Isaac said comfortingly to virtual-novel.net before replying to the man, “If that’s the case, will you call your superior over if I hit you?”
“Are you crazy? You’re just trying to make a fuss…”
Before the man could finish his sentence, Isaac slapped virtual-novel.net hard on the cheek and kicked virtual-novel.net at least ten feet away.
The man let out a loud cry and landed on the ground.
