Heath immediately answered in a low voice, "Ruby! How have you been doing lately?"

"Is that you, Heath? You finally called!" the lady responded in an excited voice. "I've been waiting for your call!"

"I know, I know... I missed you and your big brother, too. Maybe you should come to Cloud City when you're free so I can bring you around. Say hi to your brother for me, okay?"

After hanging up, Heath sat down by the bed, looking like he'd just had all of his energy sucked out of him. The call was just a few sentences long and lasted less than two minutes, but he was already sweating buckets.

The woman wasn't his lover. It was someone he'd instructed to be his messenger before leaving Everest Sect. He would only call her if something big was going to happen.
