For the past two days, Old Brooks had been in a dilemma.
He used to be a cab driver until his daughter was murdered. If it weren't for Isaac's intervention, he'd probably be dead by now.
However, Edward's big boss kept trying to lure him to their side. If they'd tried doing it one month ago, Old Brooks would have firmly rejected them without even thinking.
The thing was, after getting slapped in the face by Isaac twice and having Shawn get taken away from him, Old Brooks kept feeling more and more uneasy.
He was in charge of most of the shadier dealings in all of Southland. It was a very huge area to cover, and honestly, he was getting tired. More importantly, he thought it was time for him to stop hustling and look forward to retirement instead. However, what he wanted seemed to go against Isaac's plan. In fact, it seemed as if Isaac trusted Shawn more than he trusted him.
