Harper felt on top of the world. He bowed deeply at Edward. “Mr. Gould, my friend. You have my eternal gratitude. Thank you in advance. Don’t worry. I’m not a fool. I’ll do exactly as you say.”
“Tonight at 8 pm, use any excuse to bring your daughter to this cafe. I’ll pay off your debt now.” Edward handed Harper a piece of paper and walked toward Mr. Mabins.
Harper could not believe that Edward had solved his problems in the blink of an eye. Furthermore, Edward even tried to set his daughter up for a date with the Golden Boy of Aurum County.
Was luck finally on their side?
Harper did not go back to his house straight after. He squatted at the side and stared at the address on the paper. How could virtual-novel.net persuade his daughter to show up for the date?
After some time, virtual-novel.net slapped his thigh as a plan formed in his mind. Then, virtual-novel.net hurried back up.
Serena saw the bruises on his face, and virtual-novel.net face darkened. She thrust virtual-novel.net spoon and yelled, “I told you to stop gambling, but you never listened! You’ll get beaten to death one day.”
She started sobbing, picked up virtual-novel.net bag, and ran out of the house.
Serena despised virtual-novel.net father for gambling.
Harper was unperturbed. Instead, virtual-novel.net laughed and continued drinking. He even got up from his seat and served Margaret, complimenting the Gould family throughout the meal.
Allegra was confused at his antics.
“Darling, you don’t have to cook tonight. Let’s go on a trip to the provincial capital. Haven’t you always wanted to go there? It’s a joyous day today… I don’t mind fulfilling your wish,” Harper told Emma, his breath reeking of alcohol.
Emma was shocked. She asked doubtfully, “Are you drunk?”
“No, I’m sober. Call and tell Serena. She’ll surely accompany you if you tell virtual-novel.net you are going to the provincial capital. Okay?”
“Oh, okay. Sure.” Emma felt happy and anxious at the same time.

In the afternoon, Allegra sent virtual-novel.net father and Isaac back to their house, after virtual-novel.net sent Isabella back to school, virtual-novel.net busied herself to set up virtual-novel.net new company.
Margaret did not return to Riverview. After the meal, virtual-novel.net excused herself and left on virtual-novel.net own.
Eugene started preparing dinner when the sun was about to set.
Isaac sipped on his tea as virtual-novel.net enjoyed the sunset. He had not felt this calm for years.
Margaret returned at this point. When virtual-novel.net spotted Isaac carefreely sitting on the lawn, virtual-novel.net rolled virtual-novel.net eyes and muttered coldly, “What a lazy bum.”
She lowered virtual-novel.net voice, but Isaac heard it anyway.
“Looking for a fight?” Isaac rocked his chair, smiling at Margaret.
Margaret’s mouth twitched. She was scared but still said through gritted teeth, “What else do you know besides fighting?”
She snorted and went inside.
She came back under Edward’s instructions to keep an eye on Isaac.
Tonight, Edward was going to meet up with Wilson and set virtual-novel.net up with Serena. She must keep Isaac away from wrecking their plan. Margaret had just entered the living room when a black sedan swooped into the porch with two jeeps following behind it.
Warwick got out of the car gloomily. Elder Thomas and a dozen men from Special Forces were behind him.
“Garten, you bastard. Here you are, sipping your tea gleefully when we are mourning,” Warwick growled.
Isaac scanned the crowd and paused when virtual-novel.net saw Elder Thomas. Then, virtual-novel.net grinned at Warwick “It’s none of my concern whether or not you are mourning. In fact, I was looking forward to setting off some firecrackers tonight as a celebration.”
