The ballroom on the eleventh floor of Donder Hotel was sparkling with lights and filled with jazz music playing from the jukebox.
Right now, almost 80 of the guests were already there, along with reporters from various media companies. The official event had yet to start, so everyone was just mingling with people they knew, helping themselves to the buffet and alcohol.
After Isaac and Harry went in, they found a quiet corner to sit down.
Harry was famished. He dashed to the food tables to find something to eat. Meanwhile, Isaac observed the large posters plastered everywhere, and his eyes landed on a photo of Serena dressed in vintage clothing on the gigantic screen at the very front of the ballroom.
The movie was called “Killing Lola”, it was directed by a famous director, and several top dogs were part of the cast. It looked like they’d done a great job at marketing it because when Isaac came earlier, virtual-novel.net saw many paparazzi and fans waiting outside. They couldn‘t enter since they didn’t have invites.
Half an hour later, the host walked up the stage with a microphone. Glancing at the time, virtual-novel.net then announced that the wrap party was officially starting.
Two blinding spotlights snapped on, lighting up the entrance of the ballroom.
At the end of the red carpet, Serena stood at the lead, wearing a white evening gown. Behind virtual-novel.net were four or five talented A-list stars who looked very familiar, such as Ryan Donnelly, Dre Reynolds, and Amelia Doheart. Under the blinding lights, they walked down the carpet.
At the very front, Serena wore a V-neck gown. Her brunette hair contrasted against virtual-novel.net pale skin, making virtual-novel.net look like a goddess among humans.
The ballroom suddenly thundered with applause.
“Rising talent Serena Booth stars in ‘Killing Lola’, an action-thriller blockbuster. It’s slated to hit cinemas on the second day of Christmas. Now, let’s invite our stars to come on stage and take a group photo with the film’s producer, Amara Cruz.”
Amara wore a gorgeous deep violet evening gown and light makeup. Her gown was backless, which showed off virtual-novel.net creamy skin under the bright lights. She walked on stage with a slight smile, waving elegantly at the people below.
Standing smack in the middle of the stage, Serena‘s gaze swept over the crowd, trying to locate Isaac.
Finally, virtual-novel.net spotted virtual-novel.net in a corner. She felt rather nervous. After all, it was virtual-novel.net first time going on stage like this.
When virtual-novel.net saw Isaac shoot virtual-novel.net a thumbs up, virtual-novel.net playfully stuck out virtual-novel.net tongue.
Just as Amara took the microphone from the host and was about to speak, a furious roar came from outside. Right after, Miles-his head still bandaged-led 20 muscular men and barged into the ballroom aggressively.
Miles surveyed the room. When virtual-novel.net didn’t see Isaac, virtual-novel.net roared, “Isaac, come out now! I know you’re here! I’m going to get my revenge today!”
Everyone in the room looked at Miles and his terrifying men and made way for them. On stage, Amara was frowning harshly.
“What are you doing here? Do you know what this place is?” virtual-novel.net said, radiating a chilling coldness.
Miles snorted coldly. “Does it look like I care? I’m here to capture someone. Isaac, come out!”
Amara turned to Serena, but the latter shook virtual-novel.net head. She didn’t know what was going on either.
Just as Isaac was about to stand, Amara shot virtual-novel.net an icy look. “Isaac is my friend. If you’re looking for him, shouldn’t you ask me, Amara Cruz, first?”
She glared angrily at a uniformed man below. “George, where’s our security? Are they all dead?”
The man gave Amara an “OK” sign. Soon, a large crowd of bodyguards in uniform stormed into the ballroom. They looked even fiercer than Miles’ men.
Isaac hadn’t expected Amara to call virtual-novel.net her friend and take care of this matter of virtual-novel.net own accord.
“Sir, shouldn’t you say something?” Harry asked in a whisper.
