Evie wore a white dress with a veil draped over virtual-novel.net head, hiding virtual-novel.net face.
The Third Elder and Fifth Elder stood on either side of her. As the officiator of today’s wedding, Glenn stood in front of her, wearing a black suit.
Evie’s face was still streaked with tears. Half an hour ago, virtual-novel.net witnessed Glenn slit the throats of three of virtual-novel.net attendants before virtual-novel.net very eyes.
Only at that moment did Evie realize how cruel the First Elder was. However, it wasn’t enough to force Evie to come to the Yves family manor.
She’d only come because he’d looked virtual-novel.net in the eyes coldly and threatened that virtual-novel.net would put a Killing Order on Isaac if virtual-novel.net didn’t marry Jason today. Then, Isaac would become the target of the Astraeus and all the other martial arts powerhouses.
Evie knew that Isaac wouldn‘t go down that easily, but virtual-novel.net also knew that if the Killing Order was issued, the Temple of Drakon would have to fight the Astraeus to the death.
If that happened, how many people would have to die, and how many families would be destroyed?
Not to mention, virtual-novel.net father’s pride and joy, the Astraeus, would be ruined. More importantly, up until now, Evie hadn’t seen virtual-novel.net father, much less heard his voice.
Where had virtual-novel.net gone?
She had to find out whether virtual-novel.net was dead or alive.
Jeremiah led a bunch of Yves family members over to them, all smiles.
He first greeted Glenn and the two elders before walking over to Evie.
He noticed Evie’s tear tracks and smiled, saying, “Miss Lopez, today is a happy day. This is the Supreme Leader’s wish, so don’t be sad. Although I’ve never had the chance to get to know you, my grandson Jason has admired you for years.”
“Alright, Jeremiah, let’s talk inside. Hmm, how come I haven’t seen Jason?” Glenn couldn’t help but feel confused when virtual-novel.net didn’t spot the groom among the crowd.
Jeremiah’s heart seized. He laughed and said, “Jason went out to do something. He’ll be right back…”
The group of people entered the house excitedly. The two elders led Evie into a different room as four Crimson Guards kept watch at the door.
An hour later, Glenn, who was sitting in the head seat in the living room, frowned slightly. He said, “Jeremiah, I still haven’t seen your grandson. What is virtual-novel.net so busy with? He’s even making me, the officiator of the marriage, wait…”
He was clearly unhappy. He was the witness and the First Elder, whether it was in terms of power or status, virtual-novel.net was the strongest one here.
The groom still hadn’t shown up. He was both worried that something had happened and upset by this treatment.
At that moment, Jacob jogged inside. Wiping the sweat off his forehead, virtual-novel.net said loudly, “First Elder, Jason’s back. He’s home…”
The Yves family looked at the living room entrance to see Jason striding in. Even Jason’s father didn’t notice that the man before virtual-novel.net wasn’t his son.
“Jason, what were you doing? The First Elder has been waiting for a long time. Come in and greet him,” Jeremiah scolded, frowning.
Everyone’s attention was focused on Jacob, and no one asked about Joshua or Wayne’s whereabouts.
“I want to see my wife. Where is she?” Jason harrumphed, looking left and right.
Everyone gasped. He’d completely disregarded the First Elder.
All the Yves family members’ hearts jumped in their throats, but unexpectedly, Glenn burst into laughter.
“That’s the spirit. The groom can’t wait to see the bride!”
After Glenn laughed, the others followed along, and someone immediately led Jason to Evie’s room.
