Evie walked up the steps in a trance and entered the living room.
At that moment, Isaac descended the stairs with a down jacket in his hand. He halted, and his eyes widened when virtual-novel.net saw Evie sobbing at the entrance.
“Evie?”
Meanwhile, Evie froze when virtual-novel.net saw him.
She was stunned. Then, virtual-novel.net started laughing while virtual-novel.net muttered, “Isaac, you’re alive? Isaac…”
The grief in virtual-novel.net vanished. Evie laughed through virtual-novel.net tears as virtual-novel.net ran toward Isaac, ignoring the fact that virtual-novel.net was totally wet because of the rain.
She held Isaac in a tight embrace. She couldn’t contain virtual-novel.net yearning for virtual-novel.net and kissed virtual-novel.net uncontrollably. She yearned for virtual-novel.net passionately for days on end and couldn’t stop virtual-novel.net tears even when they were kissing.
Thud!
Holly stood outside the door. Her broom dropped to the floor when virtual-novel.net saw this scene, virtual-novel.net mouth agape.
Mr. Garten is incredible…
He has such a beautiful and capable wife at home and another equally gorgeous mistress outside…
Isaac could barely breathe. He gently pulled Evie away and asked, “Evie, what happened?”
Suddenly, his gaze fell on Trace, standing beneath a tree outside the house. Trace was staring at them, wide-eyed.
Sh*t!
Isaac pushed Evie aside and darted out with a burst of spiritual energy. However, the moment virtual-novel.net pushed Evie aside, Trace had already fled.
Isaac gave chase all the way to the residential gate but still couldn’t find Trace. He knew virtual-novel.net was in trouble.
He returned to the living room.
Evie sat on the sofa, staring blankly ahead.
Holly went inside and brought virtual-novel.net a set of fresh clothes. “Miss, my clothes aren’t new, but they’re at least clean. Change out of yours. You’ll get sick from the rain…”
Evie accepted the clothes and thanked her. She saw Isaac coming in and immediately stood.
“Change your clothes,” Isaac gently said.
Isaac was smoking when virtual-novel.net finished changing. He said to her, “Can you contact your father?”
Evie paused and shook virtual-novel.net head. “I-I left in a hurry and didn’t bring my phone.”
“Did you think I was dead?” asked Isaac.
Evie nodded, and virtual-novel.net eyes reddened. She repeated what Earl said in a soft voice.
Isaac wryly smiled. He turned around and held virtual-novel.net hands, telling virtual-novel.net how Thaddaeus came to virtual-novel.net and tipped virtual-novel.net off. Then, virtual-novel.net said, “Someone was following you, did you realize? He’s Earl’s subordinate.”
“Hmm? Then isn’t my dad in trouble?” Evie had a sudden realization and was soon panicking.
Isaac frowned and said, “You can stay here for now. As long as you’re with me, your father will be safe.”
On the other hand, Trace felt the world crumbling around virtual-novel.net when virtual-novel.net saw Isaac and Evie kiss.
Didn’t Isaac die?
Trace fled Cloud City and went to Layton. On the way to the airport, virtual-novel.net pulled out his satellite phone and called Earl.
Everest Sect had its own radio frequency, and only its members could contact each other. Evie didn’t even know about that.
Earl was in his room, speaking in to his satellite phone, his face scarlet.
He was seething with anger. He said through gritted teeth, “What did you say? That pest is still alive, and virtual-novel.net kissed Evie?!”
Earl roared and smashed the phone onto the floor. He bolted out of his room.
The guards stopped virtual-novel.net when virtual-novel.net opened the door. “Mr. Ashleigh, Elder Givenry said you’re not allowed to…”
“Scram! I must see my teacher!” Earl released his spiritual energy, sent them flying, and headed toward the main building, enraged.
