Christian looked at the uniformed man with the gun, his eyes fiery. His eyes were asking the latter to pull the trigger.
The uniformed man frowned harshly. He’d been doing this job for almost 30 years, but this was the first time he’d met someone who still had the guts to continue eating with a gun to his head.
However, Christian was asking virtual-novel.net to shoot. He was conflicted because virtual-novel.net didn’t have any evidence of Isaac’s involvement in the theft.
“Sir, virtual-novel.net said ten minutes,” Harry said after hanging up.
Isaac put down his fork. His eyes turned to ice as virtual-novel.net turned to stare down at the black gun. “If you don’t have the courage to pull the trigger, then wait for ten minutes. If no one comes for you in ten minutes, then I’ll leave with you…”
“Isaac, I came here today because I am certain I can take you down. I’d advise you to stop putting up a fight at this point. No matter what, your destiny is already decided!” Christian roared fiercely.
Bringing the officers here was merely the first part. The most important thing was that his brother was already heading here.
Isaac lit a cigarette, laughing coldly in Christian’s direction. “Actually, I never left Rover City. I was here the entire day.”
At that moment, the uniformed man’s phone began vibrating. His heart jumped in his throat. When virtual-novel.net saw the caller ID, virtual-novel.net immediately answered.
“You idiot, where are you right now? Do you know who you’re trying to arrest? Stay there and don’t move. Don’t do anything!” a man growled angrily through the phone.
Before the uniformed man could reply, the line went dead. He slowly lowered his trembling hand.
“Cecil, what are you doing?! Weren‘t you about to arrest him? Why are you not doing anything?!” Christian yelled furiously.
The uniformed man, Cecil Carlson, frowned hard. He was looking at Isaac differently already. His throat bobbed.
With a pale face, virtual-novel.net said to Isaac, “Mr. Garten, all of this might be a misunderstanding. I think we should leave now…”
Biggy and Amara were stunned when they heard that.
“Cecil, you b*stard, what are you doing?! You haven‘t arrested him, so why are you withdrawing? He has stolen over two billion dollars worth of herbs from my warehouse! He is the greatest thief of this century. You should be giving virtual-novel.net the death penalty!”
Biggy’s jaw dropped open slightly, and virtual-novel.net thought, “Mr. Garten had stolen over two billion dollars of herbs?”
Hearing Cecil’s words, Isaac smiled. He patted his shoulder and said, “You’ll never find evidence of what I did. Don’t you want to know how I stole those herbs?”
Christian’s eyes began to twitch violently. He then smiled sinisterly, saying, “Cecil, did you hear that? That bastard even admitted that virtual-novel.net stole them! Why aren’t you killing him?”
At that moment, piercing sirens sounded outside, and a black Audi screeched to a stop in front of the house.
A middle-aged man in casual clothes got out with another two uniformed men and jogged inside.
As the police chief of Cloveland, Josiah Renault had never been in such a hurry before. He sprinted into the dining room.
When virtual-novel.net saw the gun in Cecil’s hand, virtual-novel.net immediately bowed and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Garten. We have made a mistake!”
As soon as virtual-novel.net said that, virtual-novel.net turned around and gave Cecil a hard slap. The sharp slap resounded through the dining hall.
Getting this slap, Cecil was stunned.
“Who gave you the order to arrest him?!” Josiah growled at the moron in front of him, clenching his jaw. Then, virtual-novel.net turned to Isaac and said cautiously, “Mr. Garten, I apologize. We will leave right away…”
