Reece knew that virtual-novel.net had ruined any chance of goodwill from the Princess of Astraeus as soon as virtual-novel.net accused Isaac as the murderer, but virtual-novel.net hadn’t expected Evie to defend Isaac to this extent.
Something was up!
Xayden put down the documents be was reading.
Darkly, virtual-novel.net smiled and said to Evie, “Evie, are you saying that this guy from the Temple of Drakon can just kill any martial arts practitioner virtual-novel.net likes as long as Reece is irresponsible in his management?”
“Well… The Divine Fists School may be insignificant, but they’re still a sect under our jurisdiction. Who will answer the Supreme Leader if virtual-novel.net asks about it?”
Evie’s expression twisted. She was just about to say something when Isaac spoke up.
“If you’re so scared, then let Thaddeus Lopez speak to me himself,” virtual-novel.net said, smiling casually at Xayden.
Xayden was startled for a moment. Then virtual-novel.net laughed darkly. “I didn’t know you knew our Supreme Leader by name, little guy. Who do you think you are? Are the people of the Temple of Drakon as arrogant as you? Maybe if the generals of the seven armies were here, you could get a glimpse of our Supreme Leader. Are you one of the generals?”
Seeing the derisive look on Xayden’s face, Evie felt like slapping him.
Isaac was the head of the Temple of Drakon. The generals of the seven armies answered to him!
Isaac turned to Evie and said softly, “Call your father. I’ll speak to him…”
“You…”
“Just do it…”
Suddenly, Xayden slapped the table and stood up.
“That’s enough! How long will you keep up this act?” virtual-novel.net roared angrily. “Evie, I’ll continue my investigations according to this evidence before reporting to the Council of Elders. Once we’ve come to a consensus, there’s nothing you can do about it, even if you’re the Princess of Astraeus!”
He waved his hand at the others. “Let’s go!”
Reece’s expression was dark. He had expected Xayden to punish Isaac right then and there. It was why virtual-novel.net was brave enough to cross the Princess, but things did not turn out as virtual-novel.net had expected.
At the door, Reece muttered, “My Lord, Miss Evie clearly has virtual-novel.net priorities on the wrong person. Do you think virtual-novel.net has a crush on Isaac?”
Xayden stopped abruptly. He looked at Reece coldly, then slapped him. “Shut up! Evie is mine!”
Then, virtual-novel.net turned to one of the men in black behind him. “Otto, you’re good at stealth. Watch these two closely, especially Isaac!”

Back at the lake, Tristan’s bodyguards managed to struggle to their feet. Tristan was already long gone, but there was someone floating in the lake.
Two of the bodyguards went in and fished Hendrix out. He was no longer breathing.
“Quick, call Mr. Martin. Mr. Kingston is dead!” one of the bodyguards called to his partner.
Under cover of night, the bodyguards ran away from the scene, limping while carrying Hendrix’s body with them. They knew that Hendrix was the son of the Elder of the Order of Sol.
This spelled grave trouble!

In the building, once all the guests had left, the waitresses closed the door and left.
All that could be heard in the small meeting room was the sound of the two of them breathing.
Evie looked at Isaac. When their eyes met, tears began to fall from virtual-novel.net eyes.
Isaac felt as if something had touched his heart. He sighed and raised a hand to remove virtual-novel.net veil.
