Upon closer inspection, Isaac could tell that Evie looked a little haggard and exhausted.
He caressed her face and said softly, "It must have been hard on you since both Allegra and Emily haven't been around."
"Don't talk nonsense. There's nothing hard about anything," Evie joked, pushing Isaac's hand away.
Only she and a few of her top management team members knew how much work needed to be done every day. On the flip side, Evie was itching to ask why Emily didn't come back with Isaac, but seeing that Isaac didn't bring it up, she decided not to, either.
"Wait, Isaac! What are you doing?" Evie suddenly exclaimed.
