But as Carrick reached the edge of the rune circle, Morgan suddenly let out a roar, leaping up into the air. He rose over 30 feet high and grabbed Carrick's ankle.
The latter was already seriously injured and felt a sudden weight on his leg.
He looked down and shouted at Morgan, "You fool! Let go of me!"
Morgan glanced down at the black mist, then at Isaac, who had blood-red eyes and a furious expression. Taking a deep breath, he tightened his grip on Carrick's ankle.
Morgan hadn't anticipated that Carrick would suddenly open the Upper Martial Gate. He wondered if Carrick had planned this all along when he chose this location. But he knew that if Carrick abandoned him, he would either die at Allegra's hands or be relentlessly hunted by Isaac.
