Evie was shocked when she saw the look Allegra was giving her.

"W-What do you mean, first or second wife?"

Allegra gave her a bitter smile and said in a jealous tone, "Since Isaac made it clear he'd rather die than see you leave, is there anything else I can do as his wife? There's no way I'm leaving him, so I'm willing to compromise."

Seeing the helpless look on Allegra's face suddenly made Evie want to laugh, but this was not the appropriate time or place to do so. "Why must there be a distinction between the first and second? Why can't we be on the same level as one another?"

Evie then covered her mouth, unable to suppress her grin anymore.
