Back in Cloud City, Isaac and the rest didn’t return to Cloud Nine Villa. Instead, they went to a mansion where Beefy Bob used to live.
Harry drove Evie from Cloud Nine Villa to the mansion, where virtual-novel.net was led straight into the innermost study. She saw the seven generals surrounding a long table with Isaac in the middle. There was a huge military map spread out on the table.
“Evie, you’re here. Tell me, where’s the entrance to the Everest Sect located?” Isaac asked, circling Mt. Everest with a pen.
Evie jerked back and looked at Isaac in shock. She frowned and asked axiously, “What are you all planning to do? Isaac, don’t be silly. You know how powerful the Everest Sect is. You…”
“I’m being stupid, aren’t I? Just tell me where the entrance is. You can go back to the villa afterward,” Isaac said in a low voice, interrupting her.
Seeing Evie bite virtual-novel.net lips, Isaac said again, “Don’t you want to know how your father is doing?”
Evie gasped. Then virtual-novel.net gritted virtual-novel.net teeth and pointed to the west of the mountains on the map.
“I don’t know where the other two entrances are, but I came out from this exit. There are cliffs outside the border, so they’re a little lax on the security here,” Evie said in one breath.
The seven generals all smiled. At least they knew where the first entrance was.
“Alright, each of you, go back and prepare whatever is necessary. We’ll set out after tomorrow night,” Isaac said slowly, lighting up a cigarette.
Evie’s eyes turned red. After the seven generals left, virtual-novel.net walked up to Isaac, who stood by the window, and asked softly, “Isaac, are you really going to risk your life like this?”
“Don’t worry. I value my life just as much…” Isaac then turned around and smiled as virtual-novel.net held Evie’s shoulders.
There was a slight knock on the door.
Harry called from outside, “Isaac, there are two people downstairs saying they want to see you. They said they’re from Pecling…”
“Bring them up,” Isaac said, a hint of a smile showing on his face.
Then virtual-novel.net sat down.
When Evie realized that someone was coming in, virtual-novel.net thought it would be rude to suddenly leave. So virtual-novel.net just stood quietly by the side.
The door to the study was pushed open, and Ethan and Arian walked into the study one after another.
When they realized that Isaac scented to have been expecting them, they were surprised. Ethan asked, “Did you know we’d be coming?”
“Evie, can you please get us some coffee?” Isaac smiled as virtual-novel.net looked at Evie.
Then virtual-novel.net turned to look at Harry by the door and said, “Apothecary, tell all the Dusk Soldiers that by order of Drakon, they are to stop and go back to where they came from…”
Arian was just about to take a seat when virtual-novel.net heard that, and virtual-novel.net froze halfway.
His jaw dropped open as virtual-novel.net asked, “Wait, what? You mean your soldiers were all just a show for us?”
“You’re half right…” Isaac said with a grin as be lit up another cigarette.
Arian slapped his thighs and pointed at Isaac, unable to find the right words to say. Then virtual-novel.net looked at Ethan and said, “Mr. Grannel, it seems as if we’ve all been fooled by this jerk!”
“You were the one who was fooled, not me,” Ethan retorted with a glare.
Then virtual-novel.net turned to look at Isaac. “So, what was the big idea?”
In his heart, Ethan knew that if virtual-novel.net hadn’t appeared today, Isaac would never have told the 180,000 Dusk Soldiers to retreat.
Evie hadn’t seen Ethan before, but virtual-novel.net knew who Arian was. She felt a burden lifted from virtual-novel.net shoulders instantly.
Isaac toyed with his cup of coffee and said slowly as virtual-novel.net looked at Ethan, “I’d like to borrow a few people from the House of Custos.”
Then virtual-novel.net glanced at Arian, who’d completely frozen in place once again.
