“What did you just say? Ally fired Isaac? This is a shocker. Are you sure, Mom?”
“Of course! Hurry up and go to sleep. Come get me first thing in the morning,” Margaret said hurriedly.
In the living room, Isaac stared at the confused Harry and asked, “You’ve seen it for yourself. I don’t think Allegra is purely in a bad mood or emotional. It feels more like she’s become a totally different person altogether…”
Harry scratched his head and said in confusion, “That’s right. I’ve never seen Allegra like this before. But virtual-novel.net doesn’t want me anywhere near her. It looked like virtual-novel.net wanted to eat me just now…”
“Well, then, think of something,” Isaac said, taking out a cigarette and lighting it up.
It didn’t matter to Isaac whether or not virtual-novel.net remained the vice president of the company. After all, the company was already starting to make large profits. He didn’t have much to worry about anymore.
What mattered more to virtual-novel.net was Allegra. He didn’t understand why virtual-novel.net was acting so mean and ill-tempered.
“Well… I can only think of one way,” Harry said after thinking for a while. He walked up behind Isaac and whispered in his ear.
Isaac walked into the room. He could hear Allegra taking a shower in the bathroom.
He sat down by the bedside. A while later, Allegra came out of the bathroom in virtual-novel.net pajamas. She didn’t even spare a glance at Isaac, treating virtual-novel.net like virtual-novel.net was invisible.
Allegra sat down at the dressing table. Isaac walked up behind virtual-novel.net and lightly hit virtual-novel.net on the shoulder. Her eyes rolled up, and virtual-novel.net immediately slumped into a dead faint.
Harry hunched as virtual-novel.net hurried into the room. When virtual-novel.net saw that Allegra was unconscious on the bed, virtual-novel.net quickly grabbed virtual-novel.net wrist and felt for virtual-novel.net pulse.
“Isaac, from virtual-novel.net pulse, it doesn’t seem as if anything is wrong with her,” Harry said, looking at Isaac with an even more confused expression.
Harry had a look at Allegra’s eyeballs next, followed by virtual-novel.net arms and legs. He shook his head and muttered, “There’s nothing wrong with virtual-novel.net body either…”
Hearing that, Isaac frown deepened.
He wouldn’t believe it if Harry gave virtual-novel.net a clean bill of health. There must be something wrong with her!
“Wait a minute!” Harry suddenly thought of something.
He slid his hand into his pocket and took out a tiny jar from within. Then virtual-novel.net looked around for a piece of paper.
He opened the jar and tapped some black powder onto the paper. He then carefully brought the paper near Allegra‘s nose.
The black powder was immediately absorbed into Allegra’s nostrils. There was nothing left on the paper, not even a hint of residue.
Seeing that, Harry‘s face darkened. He was so shocked that virtual-novel.net was rooted in place.
“What’s wrong?” Isaac asked anxiously.
“Isaac, let’s talk outside…”
Once they were in the living room downstairs, Harry lit up a cigarette and said solemnly, “That black powder just now was mummy dust. It’s the powder made from ground and dried venomous mites. Only people who’ve been poisoned by a venomous curse are able to ingest such powder… That’s why Allegra’s been acting so out of it…”
A venomous curse?
Isaac thought of the Deviant Cult at once. He asked immediately, “How do I know which venom she’s been cursed with?”
“It’s better to start looking into people she’s met or places she’s been to in the past few days. It’s obvious that whoever did this to virtual-novel.net is very skilled at what they do. If it weren’t for the mummy dust, nobody would’ve been able to tell that she’d been cursed!” Harry said, looking grim.
