Diana couldn’t help feeling a shiver down virtual-novel.net spine as virtual-novel.net recalled Allegra’s frightening pitch-black eyes. She felt virtual-novel.net nose starting to tingle, but virtual-novel.net suppressed virtual-novel.net feelings and told virtual-novel.net officers to retreat.
She couldn’t believe that she’d gone to such lengths for nothing. She’d even dispatched the helicopter and lost a few officers as well. Diana had no idea how virtual-novel.net was going to report to virtual-novel.net supervisor. If Allegra pressed charges on her, things would get even messier and harder to justify.
Was this a sign that virtual-novel.net should just give up?
The living room was quiet once again. Isaac saw that Allegra’s eyes had turned red, so virtual-novel.net went over and hugged virtual-novel.net gently.
He comforted her, saying, “Alright, don’t be mad anymore. I’ll go and get an explanation from Louis himself…”
Evie glanced at Allegra and saw virtual-novel.net sticking virtual-novel.net tongue out at her. Evie chuckled helplessly and shook virtual-novel.net head before heading upstairs by herself.
The rest of the night passed by uneventfully.

The next morning, Isaac was about to head over to Diana’s to ask for an explanation, but Emily called virtual-novel.net just then. She said that virtual-novel.net team was ready to go to Carbotta City for the land inspection and was just asking Isaac what time they would be leaving.
Isaac smacked his head in surprise. He’d almost forgotten about this. He then asked Emily to pick virtual-novel.net up from home.
At that moment, Evie was also on virtual-novel.net way out. Isaac asked, “Are you going out?”
“Yes, why? Can’t I go out on a lunch date with Allegra?” Evie asked virtual-novel.net back.
She then hopped into a waiting cab and headed for the restaurant.
Allegra was already there, sitting in a booth next to the window with a depressed look on virtual-novel.net face. She caught sight of Evie walking toward her.
“Feeling down?” Evie asked, sliding into the seat opposite Allegra.
Suddenly, Allegra answered in an icy manner, “Evie, I really want to kill Diana. One of us has to die, and it’s going to be her.”
Evie’s face turned solemn at once. She said in a low voice, “Don’t be silly. You’ve already made things very clear last night. If something happens to her, everyone will suspect you at once. You have to lay low if you don’t want Isaac to find out.”
When virtual-novel.net heard this, Allegra shivered and sighed.
Evie had a point. If Diana were dead, virtual-novel.net would immediately be the top suspect. But if Diana didn’t die, then Allegra would continue sitting on pins and needles for the rest of virtual-novel.net life.
However, Evie never thought that what virtual-novel.net said wouldn’t stop Allegra, but it gave virtual-novel.net an epiphany instead.
“Haha! I know what to do now. Evie, you’re such a genius!” Allegra raised virtual-novel.net glass and said, “Here, let’s make a toast!”

On the other side of the city, Isaac and Emily’s team were on their way to Carbotta City.
It was a three-hour drive, and the city was located in some of Southland‘s poorest districts in the mountains. In other words, the roads were in dire conditions.
There were only four people in their group. There were Isaac and Emily, someone from the marketing department, and an assistant. It was Isaac’s idea to bring as few people as possible.
As soon as they arrived in Carbotta City, the roads started winding uphill as they entered mountainous terrain. However, the scenery outside the car was simply to die for.
At noon, they had a simple lunch at a rest stop.
They finally reached the city center at 2 pm and parked their car in front of a big hotel. As soon as Isaac got down from the car, virtual-novel.net saw Louis, dressed in a black wool coat, and his assistants hurrying over to them.
“Mr. Garten, welcome! We just received Ms. Booth’s phone call yesterday, and I was so excited that I could barely sleep the whole night,” Louis said with a wide smile.
Isaac frowned and said, “Aren’t we supposed to be inspecting the land? What are we doing at a hotel?”
There was an awkward look on Louis’ face. He leaned over and whispered in Isaac’s ear, “The representatives from Warhunt Corporation are also here. The higher-ups also sent someone over. I told them that Garth Properties was also interested in this development project, but they wouldn’t believe me. I could only…”
Seeing the look on Louis’ face, Isaac’s eyes turned icy. “Representatives from Warhunt Corporation? Alright then, let’s go and meet them.”
