“What’s wrong with the lights?” Diana muttered.
She got virtual-novel.net phone out and was about to call virtual-novel.net colleagues when the lights suddenly went back on again.
However, this time, there was a figure sitting in front of virtual-novel.net desk, and it was all dressed in black. Diana was so startled that virtual-novel.net backed away in shock and reached for virtual-novel.net gun.
“Officer Taylor, there’s something I’d like to talk to you about,” the black figure said in a familiar voice.
The figure then pulled down the black mask obscuring virtual-novel.net face, and Allegra’s face came into view.
“M-Ms. Booth?” Diana’s eyes enlarged.
Allegra said coldly, “Your office is running on backup power. The cameras aren’t working, so nobody knows I’m here.”
“What are you trying to do?” Diana touched the gun holster on virtual-novel.net waist and suddenly felt a lot safer.
Suddenly, Allegra’s eyes turned completely black.
Dark smoke also appeared behind her, scaring Diana so much that virtual-novel.net got goosebumps all over virtual-novel.net body. Her mouth fell open.
“See, this is howl look like now,” Allegra said frostily.
“M-Ms. Booth, what… Why?”
Swish!
Allegra suddenly reached out with virtual-novel.net right hand. Diana couldn’t react in time before virtual-novel.net felt Allegra’s hand choking virtual-novel.net neck.
Diana felt suffocated. She was frightened and tried reaching for virtual-novel.net gun.
“Still trying to put up a fight?” Allegra scoffed, waving with virtual-novel.net left hand.
The black smoke slapped the gun out of Diana’s hand.
Allegra came closer and closer to Diana, virtual-novel.net coal-black eyes staring intently at the officer. Then, Allegra said in a murderous tone, “Consider this my last warning to you. If you tell Isaac about me, I will kill your entire family. Capisce?”
Diana felt like virtual-novel.net was drenched in cold sweat. At the death threat, virtual-novel.net could only nod weakly in agreement.
In fact, Allegra was almost at virtual-novel.net limits, trying to hold herself back from killing Diana. The urge was too strong for virtual-novel.net to suppress. If virtual-novel.net didn’t force it back down, virtual-novel.net would have killed Diana right then and there for real.
“Don’t forget. This is my final warning…” Allegra then loosened virtual-novel.net hand.
Then, like a bolt of lightning, Allegra disappeared. Diana hadn’t even managed to collect virtual-novel.net wits when virtual-novel.net office was empty again.
Diana gasped loudly for air. Whatever just happened only felt like a terrible nightmare to her.
After regaining virtual-novel.net senses, virtual-novel.net quickly rushed into the monitoring room. However, due to the power outage earlier, the backup power didn’t connect automatically to the security camera system, so none of what happened earlier was caught on camera.
Then, Diana went to the bathroom to splash some cold water on virtual-novel.net face before locking herself in virtual-novel.net office. Her hands were still shaking up until now. The deadly aura from Allegra was just too terrifying.
This wouldn’t do…
She had to think of a way to solve this problem. There was a streak of determination in Diana’s eyes. The more virtual-novel.net thought of it, the more confident virtual-novel.net was that Allegra had something to do with the few murder cases over the past few days.
She hurriedly wrote down in virtual-novel.net notebook, “24-hour surveillance on Booth…”

After midnight, while Isaac was still asleep in bed, the door to his room suddenly creaked open.
Isaac thought it was Allegra. He turned over in bed and peeked at the door but suddenly widened his eyes in shock
He saw a tall, thin male figure standing by his side of the bed. Then the man turned to look at Isaac and smiled endearingly at him.
Isaac’s eyes turned red at once. He frowned deeply as his voice started shaking. “S-Sir…”
