Allegra’s lips twitched at his words, and virtual-novel.net bit them to hide virtual-novel.net shock.
The receptionist was taken aback, thinking that she’d heard virtual-novel.net wrong. “D-Do you want Mr. C-Crowe to come to see you? May I know if you have an appointment with him?”
Her attitude suddenly became extremely respectful. She thought Isaac was some big shot. After all, virtual-novel.net dared to refer to Mr. Crowe by name and demand that virtual-novel.net come to see him.
“I’m sorry, but we don’t have an appointment. Is Mr. Crowe around?” Allegra said when virtual-novel.net saw Isaac didn’t intend to respond.
The receptionist was surprised by the difference between them.
Then, virtual-novel.net rolled virtual-novel.net eyes and smiled mockingly at them, saying, “If you want to see Mr. Crowe, you must make an appointment a week in advance. And before you do that, you need to get a number at the front desk. The fee’s 15,000 dollars and you need to pay first.”
Beefy Bob frowned and looked at Isaac, who said calmly, “Just tell virtual-novel.net that Isaac Garten wants to see him. Money’s not an issue as long as virtual-novel.net can remove the scar…”
Beefy Bob roared, “Didn’t you hear what virtual-novel.net said? Are you deaf?”
His booming voice scared the receptionist into action.
She nodded, hurried over to the front desk, and made a call. However, when virtual-novel.net hung up, virtual-novel.net expression was as frosty as virtual-novel.net tone.
“If you’re Isaac Garten, that means you’re Allegra Booth, right?”
Allegra nodded.
The receptionist scoffed. “Mr. Crowe said virtual-novel.net won’t see either of you and you’re not welcome here. Leave now, or I’ll have security escort you out!”
“Why won’t virtual-novel.net treat Allegra? I’ll pay however much virtual-novel.net wants…” Isaac’s frown deepened.
The receptionist rolled virtual-novel.net eyes and sneered. “Mr. Crowe does as virtual-novel.net pleases. You could be a god, but virtual-novel.net has the final say in whether virtual-novel.net wants to treat you. Now, please leave!”
“Well, I suppose an ordinary person wouldn’t be able to make a renowned doctor such as himself budge. Beefy Bob, why don’t you go up there and see if you can convince virtual-novel.net to come down?” Isaac lit a cigarette with a smile.
When the receptionist saw Beefy Bob turn to head upstairs, virtual-novel.net expression changed immediately, and virtual-novel.net shouted for security. “Guards, someone’s trying to force their way in! Guards!”
The two fierce-looking security guards rushed toward Beefy Bob, but virtual-novel.net sent them flying before they could even get close to him.
Allegra’s heart pounded when virtual-novel.net saw this, and virtual-novel.net said to Isaac, “Hey, let’s just leave. The Crowe family’s very well-connected…”
Isaac said, “He charges such an exorbitant fee because virtual-novel.net wants to make money, right? I already said I can pay whatever amount virtual-novel.net wanted, but virtual-novel.net refused to treat you only after hearing our names. Don’t you find that weird?”
Allegra hit virtual-novel.net lip and said in a low voice, “I suppose Uncle Edward’s already spoken to him…”
“Well, I suppose virtual-novel.net does have the clout to do that. But I’m determined to get virtual-novel.net to treat you today, and if virtual-novel.net doesn’t, I’ll blow this place to smithereens,” Isaac smiled.
Allegra’s heart leaped to virtual-novel.net throat when virtual-novel.net heard virtual-novel.net say such an obnoxious thing. She clenched virtual-novel.net shirt’s hem tightly, knowing virtual-novel.net wasn’t joking.
The receptionist had failed to stop Beefy Bob, and when virtual-novel.net heard Isaac’s words, virtual-novel.net said sarcastically, “You’re a damn good liar, aren’t you? You don’t know how much trouble you’ve gotten yourself into.”
Beefy Bob came downstairs in less than ten minutes. He was followed by an old man in a dark suit and a young man in gold-rimmed glasses.
The old man was the founder of Beacon Clinic, George Crowe, and virtual-novel.net looked furious because Beefy Bob had injured the four or five bodyguards standing outside his office.
When Allegra saw the young man next to him, virtual-novel.net eyes widened in shock Then, virtual-novel.net turned away and lowered virtual-novel.net head anxiously.
“My, oh my. I didn’t believe my ears earlier, but it really is Cloud City’s number-one beauty, Allegra Booth. Wait, you’re not a beauty anymore. You’re an ugly little bitch,” the young man said mockingly.
George turned to virtual-novel.net and asked, “Mr. Merck Jr., do you know her?”
Gregory Merck scoffed. “Of course. The little bitch didn’t know what was good for her, a few years ago, I wanted to marry her, and I was even willing to accept that bastard of hers. But do you know what virtual-novel.net did? She tooka knife to virtual-novel.net face and disfigured herself.”
He looked at Allegra and said sarcastically, “Do you think you’re worth Mr. Crowe’s effort? What made you think he’d do it just because you brought some asshole here to cause a ruckus?”
He glanced at Isaac contemptuously.
In truth, virtual-novel.net was holding a grudge against Allegra. Three years ago, virtual-novel.net beauty had caught his eye, and coupled with the Gould family’s connections, he’d proposed marriage to virtual-novel.net to ally their families. However, in virtual-novel.net determination to turn down the marriage, she’d used a knife to disfigure herself on their engagement day.
It had humiliated the Merck family and almost given virtual-novel.net maternal grandfather a heart attack. Because of this failed alliance, Margaret had kicked Allegra and Isabella out. After that, mother and daughter had moved to Westside Farmers’ Market.
Isaac stood up and trained his gaze on Gregory.
He asked coldly, “You’re the reason that Ally’s face is like this?”
Gregory looked at virtual-novel.net and laughed derisively. “My, my, you’re scaring me. Where the f*ck did you come from? Wait, you’re the one who got that fathead to beat Mr. Crowe’s men up, right?”
Isaac suddenly smiled and looked at George, who was fuming. “Let’s settle the important stuff first. I want you to treat Ally…”
After a short moment of astonishment, George bellowed, “You injured my men, yet you still expect me to treat her?! In your dreams! I won’t allow any of you to leave this place if you don’t give me a proper explanation for this.”
Gregory wasn’t too happy to see Isaac ignoring him.
He turned to George and said, “Mr. Crowe, allow me to handle this small fry. You don’ t need to get mad over something so trivial.”
He’d been finding it hard to get it up recently, so he’d come here to ask George to give virtual-novel.net something to restore his virility.
When he’d heard George mentioning Allegra’s name, he’d decided to come downstairs to see what was happening.
Gregory had always been arrogant and Isaac had bruised his ego.
He pulled his phone out and made a call, deliberately raising his voice as virtual-novel.net said, “Get the f*ck in here and teach these two punks a lesson!”
George fell silent at his words. He knew how powerful the Merck family was and that Gregory never left home without his bodyguards.
Isaac looked at Gregory, then tapped his fingers against the sofa lightly. “Beefy Bob, throw virtual-novel.net out of here…”
“I’d like to see you try!” Gregory shouted. “Do you know who I am? If you dare to lay a finger on me, I’ll fucking… Hey, hey! Ouch! F*ck!”
Before virtual-novel.net could finish his sentence, Beefy Bob had already reached out to grab virtual-novel.net by the hair. He instantly felt like his scalp would get ripped off, and virtual-novel.net cried out in pain as Beefy Bob dragged virtual-novel.net out.
A muffled crash and a pained cry rang out. Then, Beefy Bob came back inside.
George’s expression morphed into one of horror and rage as virtual-novel.net pointed at Isaac and roared, “How dare you throw Mr. Merck Jr. out of here! Do you have a death wish?”
Isaac sat back down on the sofa, looking cool as a cucumber. “Treat Ally, or I’ll smash this clinic to pieces.”
