Dragon Claw went to great lengths in order to recruit Thomas. Everything that was within his capabilities was already offered on his end.

When asked to choose between Thomas and Lord Vedastus, Dragon Claw did not hesitate and placed his money on Thomas. This was his way of acknowledging Thomas.

The problem was, would Thomas agree?

Thomas slowly picked up the glass on the table and emptied the glass of wine. “Is there some misunderstanding here, Dragon Claw? You thought that I went against Lord Vedastus to gain control over Celandine City? In that case, how would that differentiate me from Lord Vedastus?”
