“I obviously ate the pill in front of you guys?” Thomas laughed and took a piece of chewing gum from one of his pockets. He then tilted his head backward and placed it in his mouth and chewed.

“I ate it right?” as he was still talking, Thomas raised his hand and revealed an intact chewing gum in his hands. He actually did not eat it!

In other words, Thomas had deceived them with his sleight-of-hand. They had thought that he ate the pill, but in fact, he did not eat it but kept it in his hand all along. While Jed was distracted, he shoved the pill in his mouth and forced him to swallow it.

Jed went pale. He pointed at Thomas and said, “So your actions just now were merely an act?”
