“Have you seen the last edition of ‘Resident Evil’ before?” Bernard questioned the secretary instead of answering the question.
“Huh?” The secretary was a little surprised and was not sure why the question was asked, but she responded, “I’ve seen a little of it before.”
Bernard continued, “In the game, the antagonist, Eveline, was made into a bioweapon who could turn every single part of her body into a weapon, and she could even infect others with the mold she created. And she tried to kill her own father, too!”
“But what does this have to do with us?" the secretary asked, scratching her head. “Don’t tell me that we have to raise this child and convince her that you are her father, then for her to turn against Thomas and murder her own father when she is older?”
Bernard laughed and said, “It’s not like I haven’t thought of that plan before, and it’ll be fantastic if that happens. However, with Thomas’s abilities, it’s impossible to have enough time to train her slowly. Besides, Southland District is becoming increasingly chaotic and I have to leave as soon as possible. I don’t have the time to slowly build a relationship with this kid.”
