Franklin scoffed. He looked at his wife with contempt. “You’re too soft and indecisive! What do you mean by cruel? Thomas resigned from all his positions without informing me, and it has affected me! I’m not just boycotting him because I have to come to Outer City, I even lost the capital to challenge those executives. He never considered me at all. Isn’t he cruel?”
Irene sighed. “Everything we own now is actually because of Thomas. We’ve taken too much advantage of him, and we shouldn’t hate him for what we’ve lost.”
“Nonsense!” Franklin said unhappily. “What do you mean by taking advantage of him? Where did he learn? How could he become God of War? Those are all my contributions!”
Franklin paused for a while before he continued to say, “Since he doesn’t want to be God of War, somebody else would naturally want to. As long as I can train Shawn up, and Shawn takes over the vacant position that was left by Thomas, I’ll still be the God of War’s teacher, and I’ll still have the capital to compete with those executives in Central City... I have to return to the center of Central City!”
Franklin’s eyes were blinded by power, and his mind was totally obscured.
