The news about Thomas obtaining the jade badge quickly spread to Lord Vedastus.

Lord Vedastus had arranged for some people to keep an eye on House of Vistaria twenty-four hours a day. As soon as there was a strange situation, they would have to report it to him immediately. So, he had clear information on the big situation involving Thomas.

Lord Vedastus sat in his office and did not speak for a long time. He was in a quiet trance. His limping secretary, Hayden, also remained silent. He knew that whenever Lord Vedastus looked like that, he would be thinking about some problems. Hence, Hayden would not disturb him.
