Fiora smiled through tears. She even purposely asked, “Women are good at lying. Are you sure I’m telling you the truth? What if I just lied to you?”
Thomas smiled faintly. “If you’re lying, I’ll take my loss because your story is really touching.”
His comment on how touching it was made Fiora feel warm.
She took the last bite of the food on her plate before she wiped her mouth and said, “Of course, I’m cooperating with you, not just helping you. I’ll help you this time, and you’ll have to help me next time.”
