The rich men at the back stared at Thomas with contempt, and they were waiting for him to be humiliated.
Before Thomas could say anything, Adery felt unhappy first. They had traveled there to attend the ball in excitement, but the organizer had stopped them at the door.

Her expression became cold as she said, “You were the one who sent the invitation card and invited us to this ball, in the first place. Yet, now you’re saying that we stole and snatched this invitation card from someone else. How could you do this to us? Worse comes to worst, we just won’t attend the ball anymore!”
