Everyone was in a stalemate. Thomas remained silent too. He even took out a phone and played games. He was not afraid of these people leaving. He would sue whoever that left, so nobody dared to leave.
Both sides were in a stalemate for ten minutes, and somebody finally could not take it anymore. An executive stood up and fearfully said, “Mr. Mayo, I’m sorry. I’ll take your advice to compensate and leave.”
One person was finally convinced.
Thomas nodded. “All right, $1,000,000. Please go to the finance office. Someone will clear the accounts with you.”
The executive gritted his teeth. One million dollars was a lot for a mid-level executive in an enterprise. But, he had embezzled a bigger amount of money, and he just needed to take out part of the money he had embezzled. He had to put up with it so that he would not end up in jail!
