As soon as a leech was placed on Thomas’ back, it started to feed on his blood. When all of the dozen leeches were in place, they sucked on the blood blisters on Thomas’ back.

Jacob said to Aries, “I’ll keep watch here. Quickly get some people to prepare some medicine and food to supplement and replenish Mr. Mayo’s body.”

“Okay.” Aries immediately went to get it done.

Fifteen minutes later, the blood blisters on Thomas’ back generally disappeared. But, his complexion was also much paler. His face was extremely white, and his lips were dry. The leeches had started to suck the healthy blood in Thomas’ body.
