Silence followed Francis' words. Francis and Tyson exchanged a glance, neither speaking a word.
After a long while, the sound of a child crying echoed inside the cave. It started with just one child, then became two, and gradually, all ten children were crying. Individually, their cries weren't very loud, but together, they were piercingly loud.
Francis and Tyson looked at them at the same time.
Francis said, "You've raised children before, so you have experience with them. I'm leaving them to you."
Tyson remained seated on the stone bed, watching the children, and he softly started to sing a lullaby. His voice was just right, and the lyrics were gentle and soothing.
