It was only until Remus' retreating figure disappeared completely did the crowd tear their eyes away from him.
Cries erupted from the crowd once they looked away from the direction in which he left. There were sobs and walls as some of the disciples lost their composure and started lying and rolling on the ground as if they were kids throwing tantrums.
Remus' victory shut them up for good. They'd always seen themselves as the best among the best of people.
If Remus had died, it'd mean that they didn't suck that badly. But that wasn't the case now. Not only did he leave unscathed, but he even used a technique he created by himself to kill Kennard!
It suddenly occurred to them that they might not be able to achieve such heights even ifthey get to live for hundreds of years more. They were all thrown into colossal despair.
