Remus spoke quickly and casually, with a relaxed and pleasant smile.

Nobody could criticize his attitude. But Grandmaster Burke's heart skipped a beat as he instinctively looked up at Remus. However, rather than feeling reassured by Remus' warm and friendly smile, he felt a chill run through him, making him shiver all over.

If the latter had gotten angry, that would have been fine, if he had talked about revenge, that would have been understandable. But he only smiled, which left everyone completely baffled.
