She added, "I'm willing to be imprisoned, but you have to let Rafael leave!"
This was the only thing they could do. If they were to fight them head-on, the soldiers might discover Remus. She would rather be punished, if it meant that her son's safety was guaranteed.
The soldiers looked at each other after hearing that. They were surprised that she was suddenly surrendering and thought she might be hiding something. As for Remus, he finally realized what was going on.
In his master's letter, he wrote that Remus' mother had been imprisoned.
