Above them, Candace sat firmly on her throne, glancing between the battles above and below her.
With a smile on her face, she sat comfortably, as if she were merely a spectator, detached from everything happening around her.
Time ticked by. From the sky, constant cries of anguish could be heard as immortals and demons kept dying. Fewer than half were still able to fight, and the rate at which they were dying began to accelerate.
At this rate, the demons might be the ones who would lose in the end. The reason was quite simple. As the battle had reached this stage, all the immortals had gone completely mad.
They'd long gotten used to the initial discomfort and, when their strength was quite evenly matched at the top, whoever had the greater numbers would naturally win. However, there was a wildcard in play, Candace had yet to make a move!
